Bypass registration

What must I do to bypass registration in my KA1? It's normal (NOT limited edition)

with wifi: just use a random email address that doesn't exist

without: insert an empty user in the KoboReader.sqlite database

I have a lot of various email addresses I use at different times, such as for forums, games, bills, etc. I just use one for a Kobo account that has no info attached to it at Kobo... no payment options, no real name, no address, no country, nada.

I never purchase books through my readers, only through my PC so I can add them to Calibre and store them all in one spot, so I never need to give Kobo any info from my reader. Even if my reader is lost or stolen, no one can make any purchases under my account.

And doing this is just simpler than having to go through the hassle of figuring out how to not register your ereader every time you might need to do a factory reset.

Connect the Kobo to a pc, find and replace this file:
https://www.transfer.sh/5zpxv/KoboReader.sqlite
(it will be in a .Kobo subfolder, I forget exactly where.)

eject the kobo, wait for it to come up to the home screen, then restart completely, (Make sure it's powered off, not just sleeping.)

You should be good to go.

No guarantees a future update (which you have to install manually, btw), will not throw a hairball. It's happened to me once before.
