MS Word is unusual, but if their "All Books" search is working they are mostly a MOBI store:

1) 301 Word ebooks
2) 1,741 LIT ebooks
3) 67,595 MOBI ebooks
4) 2,482 PDF ebooks

Its not really going to bother me, but it is something to keep in mind as I only got that by digging into the support forum.

I do think they are mistaken, as they are giving instructions on how to load it onto the Cybook through the Mobipocket Reader software, and when goving instructions on entering the PID are telling to give the Desktop Reader's PID .

I just bought a book from them.

Unfortunately, I can't find where on their site to enter my PID so that the book downloads already coded to that PID.

Their help pages eventually redirect to a mobipocket.com site. I've put in a question to their support line, but it looks to me like Mac/Linux users can't use this store.

Interesting.

Here they Say that you need to enter the PID in your device settings before downloading the book.

I didn't see the option and figured that it would show up when I purchased a book.

Also Their support account appears to be seprate from their customer user ID.

Hey guys, it's Clint Brauer from CyberRead.

To answer a few questions:

1.) I believe only our PDF ebooks work with the Sony Reader at this time. However, we are planning to add a full ePub library in the next few months. (which would work with the Reader, IPhone, etc.)

2.) We no longer require manual entry of the PID. Instead just install Mobipocket Reader and register your device...and the PID is handled from there. See this FAQ.

3.) Note we are completing an API integration between our ecommerce system and our CRM system. When it's done, you will soon be receiving emails post-purchase that instruct you exactly how to use your ebook. In the interim, my apologies for the hardship.

You can always write our support team. We respond normally within 24 hours. My whole mantra is take care of the customers you have before doing anything else.

Sure doesn't mean we are perfect...but we are getting better every day.

BTW, please do sign up for our email list. This 50% offer is just the beginning of some very aggressive offers we are going to make.

FAQ Removed from CyberRead

Folks - thanks for the heads up on our erroneous FAQ. We removed it and will create a new one that is more appropriate given our change in PID implementation.

If the few of you that were discussing this/helping each other out would write our support team and mention this discussion on MobileRead, we'll give you a serious discount code at CyberRead for your troubles.

Just let them know what "handle" you used on this forum.

Thanks!

That's really all well and good... but you have just excluded Mac and Linux users from the party since there Mobireader does not run on those OSes. I think you still need a way for one of those users to enter a PID and download from the web site.

I think you should reconsider adding back a method to do it via entering the PID at your web site.

Thanks very much for coming and joining us. We really appreciate it when a company representative shows up. I've signed up and taken a look at your store, but I haven't bought anything yet, though I hope to soon.

If I can make a couple of suggestions:

First, could you look into adding ereader as well? Among other things it's currently the only reader available for the iPhone that offers DRM support.

Second, and I know this is probably because you just relaunched, there are a few books that could use re-categorization:

A Thousand Barrels a Second, a non-fiction book on oil exhaustion is listed under Action/Adventure as is the A+ Certification Study Guide, Sixth Edition.

I hate to say it, but you may need to have someone go through your catalog manually to catch all the mis-filed books.

Good luck and I hope you enjoy MR.
