Charles XII and the follow up of the Swedish invasion of Russia
I ordered my first e-book reader less than 30 minutes ago, a Cybook Gen3. If the Plastic Logic reader will fulfill what it promises I will acquire a PL reader as well. The Cybook better deliver an outstanding reading experience or I will thoroughly destroy it.
My name is Ola Ingvaldson (www.ingvaldson.com), I am born 19760513 in Viken, Sweden. After 200 years in/at school/university (or so it felt) I left Sweden for Tokyo (Toshiba, mobile phone division) 2004. However location and business have changed, currently I live and work in Moscow (working in the Russian Real Estate business, let me tell you - the financial crisis really spices up my life). Russia is a huge country, twice the size of USA. My constant traveling has made me an avid reader, hence the need for a more portable solution compared to carrying around 5 kilos (yes kilos, not pounds) of books. A computer screen is not an option, it tires my eyes and makes me play Civ IV until the batteries are dead (at this stage there are still 3 hours left before landing in Omsk). If you guys can help me finding some decent newspaper I can read in the Cybook (or my possible future Plastic Logics device) I'd appreciate it. This is a great forum, already I have learned a lot, great work! /Vikingen |

Welcome Vikingen.
![]() The Gen3 is a great device. I recently saw one for the first time and I was impressed. I have had the Sony for almost 2 years and it has kept me company on many long flights. Even shorter domestic Washington-LA jumps are no problem. I keep about 20 to 30 books in reserve on the unit and it still has over 1/2 of the internal memory available. Like you, I am waiting for the PLI unit and have great hopes for it when it is released. For newspapers I use Calibre for capturing the feeds of many newspapers and magazines. With the recent extensions he has added allow making ePub files that can easily be turned into Mobi files for reading on the Gen3. (We still don't know what formats will be supported on the PLI reader.) |
