Unhappy iLiad don't start - please Help

Hi All,

I had a battery problem and Irex d/l a program to my device to reset the battery meter.
The support told me to erase the folder of the program after full charge, the name of the folder was etc.
Now the iliad does not start, it hangs on the boot screen when the progress bar finishes, what should I do?

Please advise,
Ido

iRex had you delete the /etc folder? That seems odd...

As long as you have the developer package, you should be able to fix it by reflashing the iLiad. You can find the post with info here.

Here is what Irex support wrote in my ticket after I've asked them what to do with the etc dir I have in "recent d/l":

"Rename the etc folder - if no change you can delete it after few days of use.

Do you hold the power button for at least one sec in the on position to start it?

So I did, and it won't start, maybe they meant a different directory, but I only found one etc dir.

I think I can reflash as I have the white screen when I press the "connect" button + power. going to buy a CF card and try it.
Will let you know.

Thanks for the help.

Question

hi,

I've reflashed with the "format" option all seems good right now. - Thanks Adam
Downloaded the developer package.

Should I try to install anything? I'm afraid to permanently kill it.
Is there a way to make the iLiad less receptive to failures? I've read somewhere in the forum (can't find it) that there is a way to install a software that let you access the files even before it start?

Thanks,
Ido
