Kobo Aura Edition 2
I just got Windows Creators Update installed on my PC and Calibre no longer sees my Kobo Aura Edition 2.
Windows loads the device as a mass storage but does not recognize it as a reader Calibre can use. Here's the debug (in bold my Kobo). calibre 3.14 [64bit] embedded-python: True is64bit: True Windows-10-10.0.17134-SP0 Windows ('64bit', 'WindowsPE') ('Windows', '10', '10.0.17134') Python 2.7.12+ Windows: ('10', '10.0.17134', 'SP0', u'Multiprocessor Free') Interface language: fr Successfully initialized third party plugins: Kobo Utilities (2, 6, 0) USB devices on system: (USBDevice(vendor_id=0x4f2 product_id=0xb217 bcd=0x854 devid=usb\vid_04f2&pid_b217&rev_0854&mi_00 devinst=2), USBDevice(vendor_id=None product_id=None bcd=None devid=usb\root_hub30&vid1033&pid0194&rev0004 devinst=3), USBDevice(vendor_id=0x2237 product_id=0x4226 bcd=0x401 devid=usb\vid_2237&pid_4226&rev_0401 devinst=11), USBDevice(vendor_id=0xbdb product_id=0x1911 bcd=0x0 devid=usb\vid_0bdb&pid_1911&rev_0000 devinst=4), USBDevice(vendor_id=0x8087 product_id=0x24 bcd=0x0 devid=usb\vid_8087&pid_0024&rev_0000 devinst=5), USBDevice(vendor_id=0xa5c product_id=0x217f bcd=0x748 devid=usb\vid_0a5c&pid_217f&rev_0748 devinst=6), USBDevice(vendor_id=0x4f2 product_id=0xb217 bcd=0x854 devid=usb\vid_04f2&pid_b217&rev_0854 devinst=7), USBDevice(vendor_id=None product_id=None bcd=None devid=usb\root_hub20&vid8086&pid1c26&rev0004 devinst=8), USBDevice(vendor_id=0x8087 product_id=0x24 bcd=0x0 devid=usb\vid_8087&pid_0024&rev_0000 devinst=9), USBDevice(vendor_id=None product_id=None bcd=None devid=usb\root_hub20&vid8086&pid1c2d&rev0004 devinst=10)) No disabled plugins Looking for devices of type: MTP_DEVICE List of WPD PNP ids: [u'\\\\?\\swd#wpdbusenum#_??_usbstor#disk&ven_linux &prod_file-stor_gadget&rev_0401#n236832011340&0#{53f56307-b6bf-11d0-94f2-00a0c91efb8b}#{6ac27878-a6fa-4155-ba85-f98f491d4f33}'] No suitable MTP devices found Looking for devices of type: SMART_DEVICE_APP All IP addresses {'{03FF7E54-6DC4-4877-850C-B014B15F01C8}': [{'broadcast': u'192.168.137.195', 'netmask': u'255.255.255.255', 'addr': u'192.168.137.195'}], '{2DAB567B-E373-11E7-8A9A-806E6F6E6963}': [{'broadcast': u'127.0.0.1', 'netmask': u'255.255.255.255', 'addr': u'127.0.0.1'}]} No device is connected Looking for devices... Are you sure calibre ever saw this device? Kobo updated the hardware in the Aura Edition 2 and Aura H2O Edition 2 and changed one of the USB IDs used. The KoboTouch driver had to be updated to handle this. This was done in calibre 3.20. No version of calibre before that would have been able to see your device.
Anyway, the answer is to update calibre. Last edited by davidfor; 05-28-2018 at 08:16 PM. |
