Possible Font issue?

Just wondering why I have page numbers at random spots in the paragraphs? Any way to remove them? I mean the page number is displayed at the bottom already why am I seeing it intermixed in the paragraphs?

Go to Settings - Reading Settings and uncheck the box labelled 'Show Adobe EPUB page numbers'.

That will remove the numbers down the right-hand side leaving only the page number in the footer.

ETA: If you are talking about page numbers interspersed with your book text, this sounds like an EPUB which has been badly converted from a PDF. No easy answers for this one other than to find a better source for the book or roll up your sleeves and manually edit the EPUB in an EPUB editor such as Calibre's or Sigil. Expect it to take a long time.

The page number on the side is a more exact location compared to the one on the bottom which, depending on your font size and margins may not represent the current synthetic page number -- when the page number 2 lines down from the top of screen says 704, the one at the bottom won't update till the next screen.

That aside, I generally have them disabled since I seldom refer to "check the typos on page xyz".
