Kobo Aura H20 - Screen Frozen

Hey Everybody,

I bought a Kobo Aura H20 Back in the Summer of 2015, and last autumn I started experiencing issues with it. The screen is frozen, and nothing I do seems to help the issue. No matter what I do (Restarting, plugging into computer, turning on and off, etc), the screen remains the exact same.

I've tried reaching out to Kobo, but I was extremely unhappy with their customer service as they essentially told me that my only option was to purchase a new device. As I had only used it for roughly 2.5 years before it broke, I wasn't looking to shell out another couple hundred bucks for a brand new one.

I was wondering if anybody else was having this issue, and how your cases / the issue was resolved? Thanks!

What does the screen actually show? If it has lines on it, it is probably broken. Post a picture or there are a lot of photos of damaged e-ink screens here and on the web to compare yours to.

But, if this came on gradually, it might be the internal SD card was failing and now has become so bad as to no longer work. I that is the case, you can open the device and replace the card. You will also need to restore an image to the card and the image can be supplied. Unfortunately this will also break the waterproofing.
