Question about Plugboards

Hi All. First post here. Sorry if this is not in the correct area.

I have installed Calibre and have added in A Song of Ice and Fire series as AZW3 and in the main window under the authors tab it shows as George R.R. Martin. In the metadata window it shows under Author Sort as Martin, George R.R.

I have selected in preferences under Output>AZW3 to have it use author sort for author however when sending it to my Kindle Paperwhite it still shows up as George R.R. Martin on the device.

Is there anyway to fix this? I've done a bit of research about sorting it on the Kindle but have gotten nowhere and have tried looking into plugboards but I can't find what I'm looking for there.

Are plugboards what I need and can anyone offer up some assistance on how to set them up?

Kindle devices expect names to stored in "last, first" form, but will display them as "first last". You should see the books sorted by last name if you choose to sort them by author.

I have the Kindle set to sort by Author and it still shows First Name Last Name.

It will always show "first last", but the list of books should be sorted by last.

Ah ok. Is there anyway to get it to show as Last, First on the Kindle itself?

Leave out the comma or use a different character to separate the last and first names.

For example: Doe John
