Generated Covers not Transferring to Tablet

I grab a lot of material from the net in the form of PDF files, which I often have to create generated covers for. It's a terrific idea (the generic cover generation thing, I mean), but I can't seem to get the generated covers to carry over to my reading device (7" RCA Tablet). Please assist. Thank you.

PDF files dont have any cover metadata, therefore there is no way to change the cover inside the PDF file itself. I suggest using either the calirbe content server or the calibre companion app to browse your calibre collection on the device, which will let you see the generated covers.

As Kovid said, PDFs don't support the concept of "covers" as such.

The convention used by many PDF reading apps is to display the first page of the PDF as a "preview". The only way to "embed" a cover into a PDF is to rebuild the PDF inseting the cover art as the first page.
