Thumbs up Hello

Couldn't think of a great title for this post, so just going with "Hello".

I currently read eBooks on a Palm Tungsten - might be a T5, can't remember now. Downloaded my first eBook in 2003 (as I found when I went back to the site) and use eReader. Used to also use Mobipocket but lost that when I lost the expansion card. Had HoySync probs so haven't used the reader for a couple of years but am back now!

Am very happy reading on my Palm except for the battery life. Have come on here as am very tempted by the Sony eReader & want more info. It looks a bit big so will check it out at a shop first. Am also put off by the cost of the books - can usually get books cheaper than full pback price.

There's something very 'nice' about a physical book though - not ready to go completely e - still buy cds & rip them to my mp3 player too!

By trade I'm a librarian - maybe that's something to do with it...

Hi VivCk and welcome to the Forum. I read my first eBook (on a Compaq iPaq) back in 2000. And I am hooked

Hi VivCk

I used to read on my Dell Axim x5 using Microsoft Reader. After years of excellent service it started giving me problems, so I bought an Amazon Kindle in August and I love it! I like the fact that the screen is big, I like having the ability to adjust the font size for my tired eyes, and I like that I can also listen to my Audible books on it.

I also like regular books and will always buy the best books in hardcover, but the Kindle is much easier to tote around than the bags of books I used to keep in my car!

Welcome to the forum!

PS - I grew up in a small town and I have fond memories of my old library and the librarian in charge. When I was little I wanted to be a librarian because I thought it meant I could read books all day!
