Meet-Up! Chicago, Friday, October 17th, maybe?

I'll be in Chicago Oct 14-16th, but may stay an extra two nights to have a day off in Chicago on Friday. This is a big "maybe" at this point, but I'm wondering if anyone would be free to meet, hang-out, bum around, eat pizza and drink beer that Friday?

Maybe, maybe! Would that be around the airport, or what kind of location? I could give you a tour of the world's now-2nd-fastest particle accelerator, if you are out west.

That would be AWESOME!! I'll be "City Center", or the Plaza, or whatever they call it these days. Prudential Plaza.

EDIT: I'll also be attending Graph/Expo this year, a couple of weeks later. October 25th through the 29th. Days are scheduled, but some of the nights should be free.

My plans have changed. I will flying in Monday, working Tue, Wed, and Thu, and flying out Thursday evening. I don't know if I'll have any evening free. Perhaps Monday, the 13th.

Fermilab's status (formerly stated as #2) has now changed too. Since CERN's LHC has had to shutdown to fix something, and will take a month to shut down, running into a mandatory winter shutdown-fix-period, it'll be 2009 till they are running again. So we are still #1 !

But a tour would probably take a whole afternoon. 1 hour to get here (and that's assuming a really good travel time), 1 to 2 hours for a tour, and 1 hour to get you back.
