Grey text in Kobo store book. Can I change?

I purchased a book in the Kobo store which appears to be using a custom font color. It's noticeably greyer than the normal black. Not a good idea for an ebook...

Is there any way to easily change this? I did install Calibre but couldn't see anything obvious.

Or is it a case of finding and editing a css file in the book on my Kobo device?

Thanks.

Have you tried selecting a different font? If it has an embedded font, and you are using the publisher font setting, then it might be the font. Changing to something else might help.

Otherwise, you need edit the CSS. And that means DRM removal if it is protected. Depending on what needs to be changed, you might be able to use the "Modify CSS" option in the drivers in calibre. This appends an extra CSS to the stylesheets in the book. These can override the existing CSS and fix problems like this.

Thank you.

It is EPUB 2 (Adobe DRM), according to the Kobo website, but I shall look into the 'Modify CSS' via https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=154371

It happens with all fonts. And it's when you go to change the font that you can really see how grey the book text is compared to the black used by Kobo as its system font. As I said, very daft idea to use grey text in an ebook.

If you can remove the DRM,you can use the Calibre editor to edit the CSS to remove the color commands.

If you cannot remove the DRM, go to https://apprenticealf.wordpress.com/ to learn how to remove the DRM and to get the software to remove the DRM.
