You broke my kobo mini. I installed the firmware 4.7.10364, which your stupid wiki says is mini only, and the downloaded file says it is a limited edition firmware. now my kobo does not work. i hate u guys.

you also broke my kobo aura h2o. i installed the firmware 4.7.10413 on it, and now that wont turn on either .....

I'm sorry to hear that. I think a firmware upgrade is unlikely to break it for good. Please be patient and search for unbricking solutions.

That's not what I see when I go to the Wiki page. I see an update for this firmware that specifically says NOT for the mini (and a couple of other models) and another that says for the Limited Edition model only.

If you look at the various firmware updates, virtually all the recent firmware updates specifically say NOT for the mini.

Insulting the people who could probably most help you wouldn't seem to be a very bright way at resolving the situation. You'll also notice that such instructions usually say to use at your own risk.

And because of the type of changes, I can only see it as being a malicious change. I have just undone all these changes.

Having said that, you do realise this is unofficial information? It is collected by the members here and maintained on a completely voluntary basis and no-one here can be held responsible for the use of the information. It is your responsibility to make sure you understand what you are doing and accept the risks involved. There are several references to this on the page. And even a few minutes reading this forum would have told you there was a problem with the details on the firmware page in the WiKi.

Also, sideloading firmware is not officially supported by Kobo. It usually works, but again, it is your responsibility to make sure you understand what you are doing and accept the risks involved.

For your two devices, I am surprised that they were hung completely. There is checking in the firmware installation to prevent a lot of problems. But, if you were coming from very old firmware versions, then I can see a reason for the issues.

As Cinisjoy said, you should be able to do factory resets to recover from this. I would suggest looking in the Wiki, but you probably wouldn't like that idea. Kobo has instructions on how to do this on the web site in the help section. A search should find it.

There are other ways to recover, but, based on your attitude at the moment, I'm not really willing to volunteer to help more. At the moment, you are just abusing people who have had nothing to do with the problem and are trying to help work out what went wrong.

I agree with Davidfor, and also, if you don't trust the wiki page, my own firmware downloader sources the information right from Kobo servers. The link is in my signature.

Also, next time, make sure the mark# in the url is correct for your device.

Hmmm... If you first installed the update on your mini, and it "broke" it as you claim, why would you install the update on another device?

You are right, the wiki page was edit 1:50 GMT, than user2398472834 open thread 02:17 GMT.
user2398472834 join Moblieread today the 15th.

The changes that was done are very similar to the changes was done in 14 Nov, so I'm guessing it's the same one.

Edit: The only text that was change aside from the download links was "Aura ONE Limited Edition only" to "Mini only" and how surprising that we broke is Kobo Mini.
