"Crockpot" is a trademark. Do you have the trademark holder's permission to use it in your book title? If not, expect to receive a "cease and desist" letter very soon.

If you do not have the trademark holder's permission, I'd strongly suggest that you rename your book to use a generic phrase such as "slow cooker".

You can't use other people's trademarks for commercial purposes without permission.

HarryT, no crockpot is not trademarked.
I own way too many different brands.

. At least 2 different companies call their slow cookers crockpots so the author has not violated trademark. Matter of fact, crockpot just describes the vessel. Hamilton Beach and Rival also Bella. (Bella is the cheap ones).
Come to think of it, only West Bend slow cookers are not crockpots. They are nonstick pans over bases.

I typed crockpot into that search, there wasn't one.
Now if you typed in Crock●Pot, that is the Rival trademark.
The author did not put in the trademarked one.
A crockpot (one word) is the term for any stoneware vessel to cook in.
You cannot trademark a generic term or description.

Yes, your search was correct for what you typed. What you typed and what I typed were two different words.

Oh and please tell me that you not all American french fries are like McDonalds fries.
Yes, I was actually told by someone in another country that because they are french fries all french fries must be identical.
It took 3 pages of posts to convince the person that no unlike your chips our french fries vary from restaurant to restaurant.

My advice would be to take the picture off the cover.
Oh and Harry, I don't really think Rival cares since it will sell their product.
It won't hurt their image showing what can be done.

Now Kraft does get very picky and with good reason. It can hurt their image.

Oh and I did look at the book, it isn't bad.
Though most of the recipes are in other slow cooker cookbooks.

I wanted to get it, I need Keto. However, not free in Australia, and I'm getting lots of recipes at dietdoctor.com. JUst not slow cooker ones.
