E-reader Collector Here

Rich Wood here.

I tend to overdo things so have E-readers from Kindle, Kobo and Sony including virtually all Kindle models from Model 1 to the new Model 9 7" Kindle Oasis on order. The Kobos include the 5" Mini and the two 7" versions, Aura and Aura H2O. The Kindles include multiple copies of the DX. Love the large format for home reading. The Sonys were bought very used and include a 300 and a 505. I am looking for any method for doing side loading of files as I have not found instructions for doing so and my main computer is a antique PC running Win XP and the Sony reader control program no longer seems to be available for my antiques.

Sony PRS-505 does have an SD card slot. So you can copy ebooks in rtf format on the SD card, insert it to the reader and read them.
Sony PRS-300 doesn't have an SD card slot, but you can use an old version of Calibre. This is why Calibre was originally made by Kovid Goyal - to connect to the Sony PRS-500 readers.

By the way, I think that PRS-500 was the only one where you needed a special app to connect to the reader. All the rest of Sony Readers you could just connect to a PC and access them as it they were an USB memory stick.
