ClamXAV found virus in latest Calibre Mac 3.9.0
Hi,
My ClamXAV virus checker found a virus in the latest version of Calibre 3.9.0
Downloaded from: https://calibre-ebook.com/download_osx from the main download-link.
The virus: Html.Exploit.CVE_2017_8749-6338876-0

False positives are very common with new Calibre releases.

Virus Total reports 64/64 scanners give https://calibre-ebook.com/dist/osx a clean bill of health.

ClamXAV isn't one of the scanners on there kitbag - probably because it has a reputation of issuing too many false positives.

The way I look at it, any virus scanner that would falsely identify Calibre as having a virus is a program not worth using. Norton Antivirus is a good example of one such program to stay away from.
