The Krantin Omnibus: Books 1 & 2 by Juanita Coulson (ISFDB, Wikipedia, SFE), who is also an award-winning filksinger, comprises her complete Krantin duology of classically epic good vs. evil sword & sorcery fantasy novels starring allies (some reluctant) uniting to combat a greater encroaching force of evil backed by malignant wizards, which apparently consists of two linked but separate self-contained stories: one with twisty domestic political intrigue and f/m romantic elements, the other an evil-thwarting quest adventure in another land, free for a limited time courtesy of publisher Endeavour Press' Venture imprint.

The contents were originally published in 1978 & 1980 by Ballantine's Del Rey imprint as The Web of Wizardry and The Death God's Citadel. We've previously received just the 1st novel free, so this is a really nice treat if you've been interested in reading more set in the world (and haven't taken advantage of Endeavour's generous rotating 99 cent discount sales in the meanwhile).

INFORMATION:

They have the wrong cover on this omnibus.

They have "Tomorrow's Heritage" cover - in a very tiny pixel count.

Also, part of the Contents page interferes with Chapter One.

If you don't like the overly generous space between lines - I don't - then in calibre simply type in [without quotes] "line-height" and click the 'Padding' box.

One can, as I did, also download the correct cover from Amazon and remove that wrong and tiny little pixel cover.

Also, running this through calibre removed the interference alluded to in my previous post.

Only curious: Do you know if she (or her publisher) fixed the cover?

Weirdly, I can't access an actual cover image for this in a new download to Kindle for Mac or Kindle Cloud Reader, unlike the Pioneering Press freebie I picked up yesterday, though K4M is showing me the correct omnibus cover for the library thumbnail. And this isn't one of the books that's been marked as having an update (though one of the original duology books, Web of Wizardry is).

So I'm guessing no, although at least they removed the faulty one?
