Hi Pete and welcome to the Forum. I've had a Sony since January and like it a lot. Be sure and let us know how you like yours once it arrives.

Hello Pete. The wait can seem interminable! When I ordered my Kindle in January, it was backordered for about 6 weeks. And then ... it arrived while I was on a two-week business trip to England, so it was another week before I laid hands on it. The wait for my Sony Reader wasn't as bad since I bought it second-hand, but even there we ran into problems when the shipping company returned it to sender and it had to be re-shipped.
You're in for such a treat. I cannot imagine reading books on a PDA with the tiny screen that most of them seem to have, but the Reader (like the Kindle, of course) is so close to the paper book experience, but just better. If you haven't started drooling over the magnificent books available simply for the downloading, take a look through the upload forum here. I figure that there are more books here than I can read in what remains of my lifetime, even if I were to give up surfing the web and hanging out at MobileRead. Welcome to MobileRead. You'll find this a friendly place frequented by some of the most knowledgeable people you'll ever meet. |
