Hi, I am new to the world of eBooks. Having looked at a demo PRS-505 in Waterstones yesterday (no stock to sell) I now have one on order. Although I consider myself quite computer literate, just a short trawl around your excellent forum tells me that I have a lot to learn! I am running Vista 64 bit which seems to present challenges of its own. (I can switch to XP in a VM if necessary). I am looking forward to understanding this new world.

Hi ChrisW and welcome to the Forum. You'll find a lot of friendly help and advice here.
Be sure and let us know how you like your 505 once you get your hands on it. I've had one since January and like it a lot. |

Yes - welcome indeed!
I've had a Sony 505 Reader for a couple of months now. It's my secondary device, after the Kindle. I suspect that I'm going to be buying most of my current release content for the Kindle since the catalog at Amazon appears to offer much better prices than the Sony store. But, with the ePub support in the Sony reader, it's possible that I'll find better prices in alternate online stores. At this site, there are an amazing number of books formatted for the Sony Reader -- and currently there are more in the Sony format than in MobiPocket, which is one of the main reasons I purchased the second device. Enjoy your Reader -- hang out here a while and tell us about the kind of books you're reading. |
