Does Waterstones technically have an ebook store?
What format are the Waterstones books in? Is it pdf? If so then they're not really ebooks

Huh? ebooks are electronic books -- they could be in PDF format, LRF format, LRX format, mobi format, Microsoft .LIT format, but they're all ebooks, if they're electronic versions of paper books.

I tend to agree with Charlie about PDFs. They're not an ebook format so much as a page layout format for publishers.

To answer the question, they all seem to be Adobe Digital Editions: the DRM'd version of Epub.

I'm looking forward to giving them a whirl anyway. As a Brit in the USA, its nice to see a large selection of British oriented titles that have not yet appeared on the Sony site. There's a couple of John Wyndhams there, a Torchwood, some Doctor Who, biographies of UK people etc

I just wish the search engine was a bit easier to use and LIMITED you to JUST ebooks, ALL the time.
