Aura One VS Aura H2O2
Hubby surprised me yesterday and asked why I wasn't considering the Aura One as well. I never even thought about it since we're kind of cheapos. Lol. For goodness sakes I have to sell my poor kobo glo and Kindle paperwhite (a guy is coming later today to probably buy it for $60) to get the upgrade. Lol.
So now I'm wondering if this will probably be my ereader for the next five years (that's how long I had the Glo, only six months for the Kindle. It didn't suit me.) I should probably consider the One as well. Is it worth the extra $50 in your thoughts? My library doesn't use overdrive but the girl at chapters thought I could easily get a card in the big city if I stopped by even if I don't live there... |

If you mainly read at home, yes, it would be worth it, IMHO. If you bring it along when you go about, it depends if size/portability matters to you.
Whatever you choose, you will get a great reader and I'm sure you will enjoy it many years. ![]() |

Go for h202. I have heard news that some Auro one's natural lighting has a pinkish hue rather than warm yellow/orange. I am an Optical Engineer, and I know for certain that pink hue shall not help your eyes.

Oh that's really good to know because the comfort light pro is one of the main reasons for getting this. I saw a comparison on ereader and the One did look quite pinkish red compared to H2O2 which was more orange.

Just as another data point--I have an Aura One, and while I personally keep my comfort light pro setting very low, when I turn it up it is definitely orange rather than pink.

Can you point to the source? Every photo or description I have seen shows it as orange. There is a problem on some where some green can be seen near the lights. I don't think I've ever heard "pink" being used when describing the light.

I saw it on the ereader YouTube channel where they compared the two.

I'm pretty positive they mentioned it. I would have to re watch the video to be for sure but I'm currently stuck at work. They were noting the differences while in the dark though.

I'm interested in the H2O2 partly for portability, but also because I'm hoping they will have worked out some of the kinks. Particularly in uneven colouration.

There have been a few people reporting having an H2O2. I'm not sure if they all commented about the light, but I'm pretty sure that those who did were happy.

P. S. Sorry about my English, I'm Italian ![]() Edit: I know some people have a perfect aura one, but that wasn't my case. If you want to try, maybe you could get a good one if you're lucky. But consider that there are also people who sent back 4 devices or more before getting the right one. Last edited by costanzofab; 06-14-2017 at 07:42 AM. |

Never ever apologize for your English! If you make some glaring mistakes, people will point them out to you and all others will only be noticed by nitpickers anyway.
(sorry, had to get that off my chest, and nobody will believe you're Italian anyway, as we all know Italians don't know English! ![]() Quote:
But back to the question of the topic starter: Difficult question. Would I have replaced my H2O with the One if the H2Ov2 had come out at the same time? I replaced it because of the natural light (which I adore) and only the One had that at that time. I honestly cannot tell you if I would have picked the One or the H2Ov2. But, I came from the H2O, which is already a 6.8" reader. You come from a 6" reader. Maybe you'll find the size increase too big (from 6" to a 7.8") and the H2Ov2 will also be perfect for your needs. |

I think I would stick to the H2Ov2 myself, as I'm very, very fond of my H2O and the size is basically perfect for me.
Hopefully I'm still a few years down the road from having to make the decision. Who knows what Kobo will come up with in the meantime? :-D |
