Converting to epub distorts my jpeg cover dimensions

I'm using version 2.85.1 of Calibre.

I have inserted my book cover on the metadata page.

When I convert to .mobi, everything looks perfect.

When I convert to .epub, the cover dimensions distort to whatever size the (PC based) viewer is. If I shrink and grow the viewer window, the image squishes and distorts. I do not have that problem for the .mobi edition.

It may simply be a problem with the viewer that Calibre uses to display the .epub file.

Can you provide any insight as to what I'm doing wrong?

Here's what will fix your ePub cover problem in Calibre.

1. Preferences
2. Output options
3. EPUB output
4. Select Preserve cover aspect ratio
5. Apply
6. Close

That's all you need to do.
