Warranty when buying a Kobo from Amazon

Hi, I'm curious how warranty works if I buy kobo ereader from amazon.de
To be more precise in case I got faulty device or it stops working during first 12 months do I deal with amazon or kobo cs; will they fix it/provide new?

Did someone had similar experience?
The reason I ask is that buying h2o on amazon.de + shipping to Croatia is some 30-40€ cheaper the buying it in store here.

I had a broken kindle once and amazon cs was great and they replaced the device, so if kobo's cs is going to complicate things I might just get a paperwhite again and sleep peacefully

I don't know about Croatia but at least in France and Germany, thanks to the EU, the guarantee is extended to 2 years, whatever the constructor guarantee is elsewhere, and that applies to Kobo as well as Amazon.

I had a major problem this year with a Surface Book I bought from Fnac in February 2016, when France hadn't yet implemented the EU ruling (while other EU countries had done it already), but as explained by Fnac, Microsoft had decided to apply it retroactively, and they gave me a new Book.

And having said that, even an extended statutory warranty won't mean that a device with, say, a broken screen will be replaced.
