how to transfer collections w/ content from old ink to new?

I have 1000+ articles organized into a score of Collections on my old Kindle Ink -- how do I transfer the contents of one Kindle Ink to another, keeping all the items organized into their Collections? I tried copying the Documents folder from one Kindle to the other, but that just dumped all the items unsorted into my Home screen. I understand there used to be a Kindle Collections plugin for Calibre that would do this, but I can't find the plugin anywhere.

What specific model was your old Kindle? What model is your new one?
