Hello everyone,

I've just pre-ordered the Sony Reader from Waterstones here in the sunny (today) UK, so I figured I'd better look out for a good community site.

I'm habitually used to working on the very latest prototype and bleeding-edge kit in work, so you can guess I'm an early adopter for pretty much everything.

Work-wise, I run a computer consultancy firm specialising in troubleshooting and in innovations, so if anyone wants any tech talk, I'm the guy to talk to.

Claims to fame involve insulting Queen Elizabeth II to her face, and stealing Bill Gates' stapler...

I've just been reading the other intro threads, and have spied the importance of avatars; so I shall duly acquire something suitable.

I have to say, I'm very impressed with the huge amount of work that has gone into this site, and the fantastic job you all have done with the quality, let alone the quantity, of eBooks. Very well done to everyone, a huge thank you for your efforts, and I hope to be able to contribute myself sometime. Uhh, I don't mean contribute *myself*, (I don't think I'd fit through the window), but contribute something *by myself*. Not that there's anything wrong in collaborations! Err... I'll get me coat.

Thank'ee! I haven't had a new gadget for quite some time. Last thing I had was the iPhone 3G, and before that I think it was either my iMac or my Robot Guitar.

Like everyone else, I have a very hard time waiting for these things; I cancelled and re-pre-ordered on the website at least half a dozen times this week, wondering whether it would be quicker to get from the store, but the extra points on the loyalty card finally won out. Along with them actually shipping the thing. I shall have to camp the store tomorrow now, and physically beat the staff until they give me my reader.

Alas, Sparrow, I fear it is too late for you.

In my case, I've used my Level 50 Defender from City of Heroes, who, funnily enough, wears a cape and bears a resemblance to a hi-tech panda...

Alas, I'm off to Wales on Friday for the weekend -- I would love to have come in and met up otherwise. I tell you what, move it to next weekend and I'll be there :-p

Maybe if I re-read The Time Machine often enough I'll be able to come back and make it after the event?

In which case, thanks for the great time everyone, it was/will be a blast!

And as for what Zelda did/will do... well, I'm shocked. The sheep will never look at an umbrella the same way again, I can tell you...

Oooh, the Collection sounds interesting! Is that where you have the funny handshakes and the nipple clamps? Or am I thinking of the weekend again...?

I don't know who marc is yet -- or maybe I will have known before (uhh...) -- but anyway, how could you have seen me if I was disguised as a lamp...?
