Hi, new here and i think im going to love it here. I bought the Sony PRS-505 and im in LOVE!!!!! Will like to ask, how do i know which book format to download? Ive seen a few formats here. Is it the Adobe? Hope its not a dumb question. Also i do have a book in my ebook library, how do i share it here with everyone? Thank you and i hope to make lots and lots of friends.

The Sony "native" format is BBeB; with a file type of .lrs (non-secure) or .lrx (secure). It can also read .rtf (rich text), .txt, and .pdf files. With the most recent firmware update, the Sony Reader now has support for secure and non-secure ePub (open standard for eBooks) as well as secure Adobe books. See the MobileRead Wiki for lots of information on the Sony Reader. Info on the most recent firmware update was posted to the MobileRead forums.

If you've created a book from a copyright-free source -- or if you're the author and owner of the copyright -- and you want to share it, post it to the appropriate upload forum. Be sure to read the info in the upload help forum for rules, guidelines, help, etc.

Welcome! You're so lucky. You have the NYC public library which has hundreds of ebooks for online checkout if you have a library card. Understand that their selection of Adobe PDF format books is awesome.

I do the same thing at the Fairfax, VA Library and it is a very handy resource.
