Kobo Glo endless loop of crashes
Hello members of the forum.
I am searching for help and advice, because you are my last line of help. I am a extremely unfurtonate owner of Kobo Glo, sice I bought it, I maybe had a few days of normal use. I turn on my Kobo, update the library, read, and in a day or two, it crashes, and it goes into: Restoring mode, connect to computer, back to restoring mode After 20x tries. Restoring mode, goes in main setup mode, updating, crashes back to connect to computer. And maybe just sometimes, it will be setup , will work for a few days, and either battery burns or it crashes once again. I have tried to stop updates, change the profile, battery always full, it just keeps on going. Now for warranty ![]() I would kindly ask for any useful advices, because I would like to use it and read, and I am missing a lot. I would be thankful for advices, directions or anything. Thank you for your time and effort. |

Unfortunately that sounds like a hardware issue. Depending which version you have you might be able to swap out the INTERNAL micro SD card that is used for memory and put a new image of the firmware on it (you'll find a bunch of threads related to how to do this and how to get a copy of the image). It might well be that the memory is the problem.
The only other culprit could be if you're disconnecting the device from your computer without properly ejecting it which can corrupt the database. Doing that normally wouldn't normally corrupt it enough to cause what you're seeing though, so my 1st guess would be a bad memory. |

Yes, that is probably a hardware problem. It's probably a failing internal SD card. I would suggest replacing it. You might be able to copy the current card to the new card, but an image is probably a better way to go
