Project Jove by the late British prolific multi-genre author John Glasby (ISFDB, Wikipedia, obituary at The Telegraph) is his standalone space exploration science fiction novel with mystery elements, set on a scientific base on Jupiter where a Senator becomes convinced that the director of the base is hiding the truth of their discoveries, free for a limited time courtesy of publisher Endeavour Press' Venture imprint.

This was originally published in 1971 by Ace Books as part of their Ace Double series, paired with Kenneth Bulmer's The Hunters of Jundagai.

In the near future, Jove Mission establishes a scientific base on the tempestuous surface of Jupiter, led by Norbert Donner and the enigmatic Director Stanton.

Manned by machines and a fleet of remote-controlled exploratory ships known as Flies, Jove is at the frontier of mankind’s ambitions. Their mission: to explore the galaxy and the planets within it for precious resources and to uncover unknown mysteries.

Soon, their progress quickens.

But could Stanton be hiding the truth of their discoveries?

Senator Clinton Durant, convinced Stanton is hiding something on Jove, races to Jupiter to seek answers. He knows that not all is as it seems with Project Jove…

What danger will Durant face?

Will he survive Jupiter, or fail and be lost to oblivion?

Project Jove is a gripping science fiction mystery set in and around the nigh-unexplored area of Jupiter.
