Help needed on a search parameter
I've looked many time but cannot figure this out...so...
I'm trying to do a search across multiple books at once in epub format that involve a character. If, for example, I wanted to search for s* regardless of case or if surrounded by other characters, how can I accomplish this. I've tried this and variations of it in Quality Check/Search ePubs/Plain text only and ignoring case. Variations include \s* and /s*, but whatever I do returns false positives. I tried it in the HTML search also through this plugin. I need to do this as a batch operation, so a book by book search isn't worth it. Anyone out there who knows this part better and can help? On Windows I keep a DOCX or PDF for all books to provide a search-able format, this allows me to use Windows Search, I have the Windows Indexer set up to index the library folders, for me doing that has no noticeable effect on performance (main library > 100,000 books). I also use the X1 Search tool when I want to peek at the books found.
Average search time for both is more or less instantaneous. I use the Drop Search Results to Mark the books Windows Search or X1 finds, from there I can create a reading list, or add a tag to all books etc. Also means I can include texts that are not in a calibre library in the search - e.g. emails, blog posts, disqus comments etc. BR |

\s is whitespace
\w*[sS]\w* Actually the above (mine) makes less sense. Find a capital 'S' Inside a word ![]() |
