Firmware upgrade 4.3.8871 spotted
Yesterday my Kobo Aura Ed 2 received an FW upgrade. Change indicated bug fixes and stability. Did anyone else received this upgrade?

Yes, I have also received it. It started updating when I was buying a book. I also have an Aura Ed 2. It seems to have fixed the reading statistics.

Thank you, I hope it is true. I'll test it this evening (no Wifi update for me as I have the patch for blocking the wi-fi update).

After I didn't succeeded to install fw 4.3.8842 i try to install 4.3.8871.

1)Remove the tile trigger (i thought maybe it causing the problem), got stock.
2)copy the factory image, install the 4.3.8871, registration..., it works ok on FW 4.3.8871.

I Don't know what cause the problem.


Can someone tell me for which devices this FW, I want to update the Wiki.

I believe it contains a fix for collections being wiped out. Of course I doubt it will help those who had the issue

I upgraded my KA1 and my reading stats pane dropped by 20 hours. I'll keep an eye on it and see how if it is more accurate now.

Has anyone tried syncing yet?

On Aura HD I tried pressing the sync button without the wifi on - it asked if I wanted to connect - very good. Wifi comes on but the progress stalls at connecting ... I cancelled the sync after 5 minutes.

Now with Wifi on I pressed sync and got Checking for Updates - for all of 1 sec then an error message - Something went wrong... Please try again.

Maybe the servers are overloaded, I'll try again later, but I suspect the syncing isn't fixed in this update.

Which mark is the Aura HD? I sync'd my reader yesterday and received update 4.3.8842. Just sync'd again, and got no indication of another update.
