Is this version of the firmware supposed to work with the original GLO?

This page implies it should work so I downloaded the Mark 4 version. While it ran, the lower part of the display was messed up, with parts shifted horizontally. Any part of the UI that was displayed on the bottom half of the screen was unusable. I finally did a factory reset to go back to 3.19.5761. |

After some months of not updating, I now updated Kobo Desktop as well as accepting new firmware for my old Kobo Glo: now it's on 4.2.8432.

After that I reinstalled the Nightmode mod (experimental nightmode provided by frostschutz), wich works perfectly. **EDIT: tried the original build13 version again, didn't work before, but now it does...** But: somewhere in the process I lost the ability of sliding up and down near the left border to change light settings. Any ideas? Last edited by KJB; 02-17-2017 at 12:18 PM. |

This happened to me as well - the light adjustment was completely inactive after an instal - but when I checked the Kobo config file I found

[Reading] swipeBrightness=false Changed it to true and all is now OK. |

My Glo HD has updated to the new firmware and now the reading light is not working.

Where do I find the Kobo config file to make the change above? Thanks. Edit: Sorted. Last edited by peejayw; 02-18-2017 at 05:25 PM. |

I notice after my Glo HD updated. The light comes on like a CFL bulb instead of popping on. It's freaky to me. I wish I could disable the swipe brightness gesture. I'm always turning off the light by accident.

I noticed in the release notes that the new firmware mentions being able to access books borrowed with Overdrive through a KA1, on the GLO. Would you know how this would work? |

By editing the config file you can turn off the sideswipe light adjustment. On your device directory, X:/.kobo/kobo/Kobo eReader.conf, adding the line "swipeBrightness=false" in Reading. Code:
	[Reading] swipeBrightness=false Last edited by oren64; 02-20-2017 at 03:39 AM. |

Open the config file with notepad++ or other text editing program.

If you are using firmware 4.4.9298 or 4.4.9344 you can enable/disable the swipe brightness in reading setting on your device, setting > reading setting > swipe left edge to adjust brightness. Last edited by oren64; 05-29-2017 at 02:19 AM. |

my firmware 4.2.8432. Already edited the config : adding the line "swipeBrightness=false" in Reading. But still no change. Did I miss something here?
