Saddlerock by the late British author John Glasby (ISFDB, Wikipedia, SFE), who in addition to being a prolific multi-genre writer, was apparently also a research chemist which is a pretty cool day job to have, is his standalone western historical action adventure novel, this one some kind of baroque matryoshka tale of revenge-within-a-revenge, with a robber gang taking revenge upon the man who put them in jail for robbery by framing him for robbery, and the man in return taking revenge against the robber gang for framing him for robbery by hunting them down to put back in jail for robbery (and framing him for robbery), and so forth, free for a limited time courtesy of publisher Endeavour Press' Pioneering imprint, who are e-printing it from its 1964 edition originaly out from John Spencer's Badger Books imprint under the pseudonym Chuck Adams, which was later reprinted as part of Robert Hale's Black Horse Western line using the pseudonym Rick Lander.

Just before the dawn breaks, Chapman and his gang ride into the small town of Saddlerock.

He finds himself trapped by a set of circumstances that were not his making, forced to kill to save his own skin.

And he will do anything it takes to make sure justice is done.

But with a one-thousand-dollar price tag on his head, can he survive long enough to bring Chapman and his gang to justice?
