prs 505 upgrade
Hi,
I'm about to purchase a 505 after much deliberation, does anyone know if they are shipping with the new firmware ugrade installed yet. After reading some of the problems people are having, I am disposed to wait until the new
units are already ugraded,

The certainly should be by now -- as I understood it, the plan was to have them shipping with the new firmware by the first of August, so by now you should be safe.

Not so sure about that. I just bought mine two days ago (from the Sony Style store) and it did not have the new firmware.

Your were right
Just received my PRS505 from B&H and still had old firmware but managed to upgrade with no problems. Delighted with the reader, its build quality and ease of use.

Got my 505 today (ordered from Sony last week) - still had old firmware and its hung during the upgrade

I unplugged USB and it looks to be OK. Phew!
