I'd say it was a safe bet that is where the comments about upcoming firmware originated. OTOH, Kobo is likely concentrating on releases for the KA1 -- newest, flagship, etc -- so firmware for other devices will take longer before being released.

I got my h2o for almost a year, Kobo has never released a new FW for it. But, I got 3 FW updates for my kindle, which I bought 4 months ago.

My idea: kobo doesn't care about their customers.

You got your H2O over a year after it was released. Between the device release and when you got the device, there were about 10 firmware versions released for the Aura H2O. You hit a very unusual period for firmware releases from Kobo.

What you need to do is get the Aura ONE owners to stop whinging about their shiny new devices. Then Kobo can spend time finishing and testing firmware for the other devices.

Hmmm... which model of the Kindle? Was this the collection of firmware updates to restore downloading content from the cloud, Whispersync, accessing the Kindle store?, etc. Some of my Kindle owning friends did not consider Amazon making changes that broke their connectivity as caring about their customers.

As for the H2O, it was released in 2014. Most of the rapid firmware releases to deal with it's issues were done in the first 6 months. For now, Kobo seems to be concentrating on the KA1 but my opinion is that you will see a firmware update for your H2O in the not too distant future.

People often mistake frequent updates for progress. Unless there's a major bug that needs to be fixed, or a substantial new feature being added, a firmware update really isn't necessary.

Which is to say that a frequent updates are not necessarily a good thing, nor are infrequent updates necessarily a bad thing.
