What folders Calibre searches

May not be the best title but here is my question. When I hook up the device and Calibre begins it check for books it also looks in my music folder and video folder. is there any way to exclude those folders and make it so it only cheks the books folder?

Thanks

Yes... But... only after it finishes searching (and still connected).

<off the top o me head>
On the device Icon: right-click: configure device

I think that allows a scan path to be configured

I plugged in my Kobo and I do not see any place to configure which directories are searched for eBooks.

I believe that applies to Android devices.

For Kobo I think it just reads the database.

Oh and just to let everyone know, it's directories, not folders.

Wrong

If it were Directories, the icon would be a Disc with a Pie slice shaped highlighted 'Sector'

They are direcotires and sub-directories. A folder is a manilla folder. You can make a directory icon look like anything you want. Just because it looks like a manilla folder does not change the fact that it is a directory.

FFS the folder metaphor has been used since Xerox Star or earlier. It came into general use when Woz developed Lisa - which pre-dated Windows '95 by a decade or more

The established convention is to use 'folder' when referring to the container and 'directory' when referring to its contents. Actually both folder and directory are metaphors for inode.

When have you ever seen a sub-folder (folder in a folder)? That's why it's a directory because the folder metafor doesn't work.

When I open the file cabinet right behind my chair.
Ever hear of Pendaflex?
I have a Hanging folder foe e-book stores.
inside is many 5 tab folders for account info, receipts and some backups

Do you still 'Spool' your print jobs? Key in the boot loader (flick, flick Deposit. I know, you live in DEC country ) to start the paper tape?

I gave my copy of RSX-11M on fanfold to Sydney U a few years ago, they've made a couple of copies, so I can probably snag one should you ever need it

I also gave them a working DecTalk box; Stephen Hawkins used a modified version for a long time, not sure if he still uses one.
