Adding books to library on Box.com
Hello,
A long time ago I exported my library to box.com I uninstalled Calibre from my computer and everything related to the library is now in the cloud. I am able to use the box.com library with Calibre Companion, see the existing books and download them. However I do not know how to add new books. Can I do it from Calibre Companion or do I have to install Calibre again on my computer? I have tried the portable Calibre version but I don't know how to access box.com to import or add the new books. Could you please help me? I am not a computer savy person, so a step by step help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |

CC is not a substitute for Calibre.. The second word is Companion
![]() It expects a Calibre Library to do the daily lifting. I can't answer the Box part (other than they Moved their Offices from El Camino Real in Los Altos ![]() |

Thanks for your reply.
I hope someone can answer the question on how to access box.com to import or add the new books. Will have to create a new library on my computer and download all the books from box.com to be able to add more books and then export the library again to box.com? Thanks. |

Yes, you can only update the books using Calibre if the library is stored locally on your computer. You cannot update them directly on box.com without downloading them.

Instead of creating a new library, simply copy the whole old library from box.com to a local drive. Then you can point your reinstalled Calibre, regular or portable, to that local copy, make your changes, and then copy the updated library back to Box.com. Be very careful that there is no active syncing enabled between Box.com and your local copy of the library. Also, after the edits are complete and you've quit out of calibre, if you enable some sort of syncing be certain that it is only a one way "local to box.com" sync. |
