Calibre metadata changes for Kindle Mod No. D01100

Hi All
My name is Trevor and look forward to hearing from some of you.
I wish to list my collection of ebooks by order of publication. Using calibre's metadata tab I tried to add a number ie Title:- 01. Painted House, no changes to author. Click the green arrow and the added number remains. However on saving it to my Kindle the added number never appears. I do have Wilbur Smith's collection and his books are listed in order ie Courtneys,01,02,etc Ballantynes, 01,02 etc and they are just right. Does any one know how I might be able to list my collections as requested above. Please please keep it simple as this old silver surfer is at times a little slow off the mark. Many thanks

Use the Plugboard to insert Calibre metadata into the Kindle fields like Title

Leave Calibre metadata pristine (no hacks to make it fit into your device) as other devices will do it different and you will have a mess.
