Thank you for the new icons and a minor bug (I think)

Hi,

I wanted to say thank you for the new icons, I like them (now I'm used to them, I'm quite reluctant to user interface changes

) but I've found a minor bug (I think) in the "edit html comments" icons. I think the icons for increase and decrease indent are changed (or my brain thinks so looking at them).

As I say, it can be my mistake but I wanted to comment it because perhaps I'm right.

Yes they have changed (they're now Microsoft compliant, arrows always on the left but too small to see which direction they're pointing). The old ones had tiny arrows too, but on the right for increase indent, and on the left for decrease indent.

In the latest release Sigil has new icons ==>> Name: 2.JPG

Yes, I know. Sorry for not explaining myself right. I see the arrows in the left, I think I see the direction, and it's the direction I find misleading:

Point to left: Increase indent
Point to right: decrease indent

Yes, you are correct, they are reverse, will be fixed in the next release.

@BR: And yes they should be on opposite sides as well -- also will be fixed in the next release.

All I can say is that it was probably late at night when I made those two particular icons

Kovid, my tired eyes have trouble seeing black symbols on those colored book icons.
Is it possible to get a higher contrast set: white symbols on those icons?

@theducks: What black symbols? The colored books in the main toolbar have symbols that are a darker shade of the background color? THose are the ones you mean?

I think so. The view, delete ... are black. Is this coming from my system?

Delete, in my W7 system, is garnet over lighter red, view is dark green over pistachio green...

Those are definitely not supposed to be black. Maybe a screenshot would help. It might be that the color calibration on your monitor is a little off?

I think it is more my eyes going south with age. Certain shades have become poor choices for me. ie MR bluish theme washes out for me. (I was not color blind... I was in electronics for 50 years+)

I deliberately made sure all those book icons were different colors so they could be distinguished without needing to decipher the shapes, but you can always replace them with something more suited to your tastes if you want.

@theducks -- I am blue-green color blind and faint shades of blue or green tend to go to white for me

I found that the large icon size helps, even if it does cost me some screen real estate

There are some icons that do have the symbol very close in hue to the background field, like Remove

If the symbol were a total different color (like black) that would help

As they are now, they're prettier and in almost all cases easier to select

Dumb question, but is there a fast simple way to say "use the icons from version 2.66" for those of us who find these work well??
