Calibre - Python No module named magick
I'm not sure if this is the correct forum to post this, so please let me know if I should repost it somewhere else.
Windows 10 64 bit Yesterday I upgraded Calibre to version 2.69.0. Now, when I execute the calibre program, I get the message: Python function terminated unexpectedly Failed to load ImageMagick: No module named magick (Error Code: 1) ![]() I can't find a calibre log file. Does anyone know what causes this problem, or any tips on finding out what is causing this problem? ![]() |

From which version did you the update? Maybe you are using a not updated plugin.
Release: 2.57.1 [20 May, 2016]: Remove the calibre dependency on ImageMagick https://calibre-ebook.com/whats-new |

I updated from 2.68.0... I just tried to run the 2.68.0 version (I installed the new one to a different directory) and it gives the same error:
Python function terminated unexpectedly Failed to load ImageMagick: No module named magick (Error Code: 1) |

Kovidgoyal--
I got the following response running the "calibre-debug -g" command. calibre 2.55* [64bit] embedded-python: True is64bit: True Windows-8-6.2.9200 Windows ('64bit', 'WindowsPE') ('Windows', '8', '6.2.9200') Python 2.7.9 Windows: ('8', '6.2.9200', '', 'Multiprocessor Free') Successfully initialized third party plugins: DeDRM && Find Duplicates I am able to start the interactive calibre shell by running calibre-debug if that is any help, but cannot find any information on how to use it. Any ideas? |

I got the latest version running.
I had some registry entries left over, so I deleted everything with "calibre" in my registry. I reinstalled the latest version from the website, and it came up! So Happy to have Calibre Back! |
