Thinking of buying the Kobo Aura.

What are people's thoughts about the kobo aura?

I haven't personally owned an original Kobo Aura. People seem to have loved the size and weight but the screen was not as good (sharp) as the other current readers of its era.

If you want a 6" screen, go for the Glo HD.

I have the original Kobo Aura. I was reading with it today. I used to have a Kobo Glo as well but I gave it to a friend who needed something to read with. I have to agree that the Glo has the better screen, by quite a lot, but the Aura screen is good and it's smaller and more convenient and I like the lack of a raised bezel so that's the one I kept.

I also have a Kindle Voyage with a much better screen than either of those and it's what I do most of my reading with. If I could only have one it would be the Voyage. But if I could only have the Aura I wouldn't mind that. It's an excellent ereader.

JSWolf it's true I've never tried a 6.8" ereader but I have used a 5" ereader. I sold it because I want a lighted screen but if I could have a lighted screen on that Kobo Mini it would probably be my main reading device. I like my Voyage but the screen could be a bit smaller.

Are you referring to the old discontinued 6" Aura, the Aura HD, the Aura H2O, the new 6" Aura, or the Aura One?

I was referring to the old discontinues 6" aura, but i just realized that it doesn't have an internal sd card. What do you think about the Aura HD.

The HD in my opinion is an awesome reader. If I hadn't upgraded I'd still be happy with it. One of the nice things with Kobo is that the older devices still get firmware updates so you won't be missing out on new features (except that Overdrive hasn't made it to anything other than the new Aura One yet).

Have had an Aura HD since launch and still use it every day. While I wouldn't be opposed to upgrading to the One or H2O I haven't felt the need to do so and am perfectly happy with what I have.

I love my Aura HD and think it is still well worth purchasing. It has an external SD card slot. I wouldn't recommend opening it up to access the internal card.

I still like the option if I ever need to. I ordered one now. It was new open box for $85.

Thanks for the suggestion but i found the kobo aura hd for cheaper.

I think you will love it. I really do enjoy the size to read on. I also love the back, so easy to hold with one hand.

If I hadn't gotten clumsy and broken it, I'd probably still have my Aura HD. Great e-reader.
