Links not working when converting Gutenberg EPUB to DOCX

This is what the link looks like

"file:///c\users\dani\documents\calibrelibrary\edward n. hoare\the atonement _ as taught by the ch (708)\the atonement _ as taught by th - edward n. hoare.docx#FOOTNOTES"

Another one says

"file:///c\users\dani\documents\calibrelibrary\edward n. hoare\the atonement _ as taught by the ch (708)\the atonement _ as taught by th - edward n. hoare.docx#PRAYER_TO_BE_USED_AT_THE_MEETINGS_OF_TH E_ISLINGTON__"

And so on. The only thing that changes is the hash tag at the end. When I try to click it it just sends me to the top of the document. Anyone know why this is or how to prevent it? Some documents don't do this, but the Gutenberg ones always do. They're always a mess after conversion.

Curious - what happens if you click on the link in the EPUB ?

Does it open the 'The Atonement - as Taught by Edward N. Hoare' in your DocX viewer (Word, Writer, whatever), I'd be surprised if it did, unless you are 'dani'?

If it doesn't, then that's why it doesn't work in the output of an ePub->DocX conversion - 'garbage in, garbage out'.

Given it's from Gutenberg you could post a link to it here, someone might take a look at it.
