Sony DPTS1 vs. Onyx Boox Max

Hello my frieds
I am a psychologist and do a lot of reading. With my university account in Austria I have around 100 big PDFs for studying in the future, some of these books would cost 100 Euro, so I decided a good ereader is worth it. Plus some of the books are close to 13" with >1000 pages, so a normal sized ereader wont do. I dont want to wait for all the other 13" devices so theres only the option of onyx boox max vs Sonys digital paper. Ive got some questions about these devices, perhaps you can help:

1. Any easy way to buy one in the EU? Ive only seen the ereader-store.de, do you know if they have the max in stock right now? (looking at you booxtor )

2. Which are the specific Pros & Cons if you compare these two? What I know so far: I dont need the playstore and I dont need 16gig (my folder with ~100books is only around 1gig). I am not sure about the touchscreen, is it important if you just want to read?

3. Which one would you buy?

First, that's a fine suggestion....BUT, unfortunately, they have a history (a well-documented history right here on Mobileread) of often not returning emails.

I wish you the best of luck.

Since today the Sony digital paper is back in stock @ Amazon/BHP.
Any new recomodations?
From what I read so far, the DPTS1 is more convincing, especialy because of the UI, less ghosting and workspace features. I dont mind less disk space and only PDFs.
Any Pros/Cons I didnt think of?

I am very satisfied with my Sony DPTS1.

Was lucky enough to snag it in the last sale from BHP in late July

DPTS1 is amazingly light for a 13 inch device.

UI is also nice, does not get in the way.

So far it has handled all PDFs with ease.

There is an expansion slot for microSD cards up to 32GB size.

Minuses are the obvious, no epub support despite the built in web browser so it should not have been terribly hard to add support. I have other ereaders for epubs, but much prefer reading on DPTS1.

No frontlight, but not an issue if you read in normally lighted areas.

Another small con is no physical page turn buttons.

Positive is that there are well designed physical Back, Home, Options, Power buttons.

DPTS1 comes with a black fabric sleeve which is convenient enough for storage/travel.

The note taking with the pen is pretty nifty too, I could see how it could very useful for study. You simply write over the pdf and it gets saved (with a new layer I suppose)
