Do you want a 7.8 inch e-ink ereader?
If Kobo produces a 7.8 inch e-ink ereader, and suppose it is similar in specification to the H2O but with a 7.8 inch instead of 6.8 inch screen, would you want one?

I'd consider it when it comes time to replace my Glo, 6 inch is just a tad too small and a larger screen would be the one hardware feature that I think would enhance my reading experience more than any other. But I think 7.8 inch is probably a bit too large for me, and I'll more likely go for 6.8 inch.

Hmmm... If I can find a way to sneak it past the significant other. I have cleared out some of my ereader collection so there's room for a new addition.

I'll have to wait and see how big the H2O is before saying for sure. But if a 7.8" wasn't to heavy it might be nice. My old eyes need all the help they can get.

The weight is also an issue, H2O 6.8" weigh at 233g it's 53g more than glo hd 6".
So the 7.8" need to be more or less at 300g, it might bother you if you read for long period of time. |

I find the size, portability, weight and battery life on my Aura about perfect. 7.8 would detract from too many of those and I tend to carry around my e-reader a lot. I'm more excited by the perspect of a new 6 inch reader then the 7.8 inch one.

Maybe. I do have a number of unconvertible pdfs I'd really like to read, and IF it's comfortable to hold and IF it's not too heavy, and IF it's not too expensive for what would be an occasional reader, I could keep it for reading at home.
I do like the format of the H2o (especially the wider width relative to height), so I return to it occasionally for some poetry, but I prefer the screen and weight of the Glo HD. Last edited by anacreon; 08-03-2016 at 03:17 AM. |

I voted Yes, without reservation, but it would have to be Yes, if it's not too expensive.
Do I need it? No. Do I want it? Yes. There are some uses I could see for it, but the price would have to be right for that... |

I voted yes. I would probably get one for my mom who's eyesight isn't the best.

I voted no, too large for me. I do love the size of the Aura HD, but I wouldn't want an e-ink reader larger than that. I consider them too fragile (IMO!) whereas I have an 8" tablet that is pretty tough, if I want to read on something that large. But I don't take anything in my bag larger than 6".

About size: I had a 4.5" smarthphone. Which I thought was huge next to the prevous one, which was 3". Last year, I bought a 5.5" one. Man, that thing was humongous! But now, I don't even see it's large anymore, unless I put my old 4.5" phone next to it. The same happend with my H2O. When I first saw it for real, I thought it was very large. Now, I only see it if I put it next to my husband's Kindle... |
