Is KPW3 white version the 8th gen Kindle?
At the moment I think the new basic Kindle ($79.99) and Kindle Oasis are 8th generation Kindle.

But I'm confused whether KPW3 white version can be ragarded as 8th gen?

No. The basic is the 8th generation. The PW3 white is in a different class since it is a Paperwhite not a basic.
I do believe the generations are only to distinguish the basics from each other.
The paperwhite, Voyage and Oasis are in a different class.

What are you wanting to do?

You can see on this page how Amazon categorizes the generations of their products.

So far the only 8th generation Kindles are the 2016 Oasis and 2016 (Basic) Kindle. The 7th generation was the 2015 Paperwhite 3, 2014 Voyage and 2014 (Basic) Kindle. The 6th generation was the 2013 Paperwhite 2. And so on.

Fire tables have their own separate generations.
