Multiple series indices in single book

There's a book series with 6 or 7 books.

However, the way it was released when I got the ebooks was

1,2, and 3 in a single epub.

Is there any way to reflect that in the metadata? I can't seem to put anything but a floating point number in the series number field.

You could use the EPub Split plugin to break the book into its constituents.

I'm aware of that option, though I'm just looking for some way to indicate that the book combined three rather than split it. Is that not an option?

Some people would assign it the number 1.23, with the next book being 4

I used to do 1.23, but then some on my series went to 2 digits...

so I now do it as a implied range: 1.03, 12.14

works until you get some of JD Robb that skip
