If you're reading in the continuous "flow" mode, then the borders between pages are removed and you read the book as if it's one huge continuous page.
However, I notice that it does not continue to flow when a new chapter or section is started. It kind of "snaps" to the new chapter instead which feels very disruptive. Is there a way to stop this and enable the flow mode to work for the entire book? Thanks |

No. This is the expected behavior, and I don't think anyone expected someone to dislike it.
*Maybe* Kovid could add an option, let's wait for him to respond. ![]() |

merge all the individual files in the book intoa single file using the merge function in the editor or by converting to htmlz

In my case, it's just the way I read, especially on bigger screens where I focus on one part of the screen at a time, due to my poor eyesight not allowing me to focus on the entire screen at once. |

Having the whole page jump unexpectedly to the top of the screen is really taxing on the eye and not conducive to relaxed reading (in my opinion). Microsoft Word has an option to toggle this kind of behavior - but right now I can't remember what it's called! |

Because there are no "page breaks" either way, but chapter breaks are a fundamental contextual switch?
