I've posted a quick tutorial on using Marvin's search bar more effectively.

Thanks Kris.

Reminded me of something I noticed yesterday and had forgotten. Unlike iTunes, Mail or perhaps other apps, it might not always be clear that someone is viewing a collection or some filtered list. If by searching, some option to search whole library, or show results from current filter and then whole library after, something like that could help.

Isn't the current collection shown on top (as the most prominent label)?

Yes it is visible. Perhaps I don't mean that it isn't visible but that on other platforms and apps like OS X Mail and Finder, it's easier to search and switch to search all.
