Reinstallation to get back buttons

I somehow lost my News feed, donate and one other button and nothing I did would get it back. So I uninstalled Calibre after making a backup of my library. I reinstalled Caliber and got my buttons back. Yea, when I imported my library back into an empty folder like required the buttons went away again.

I checked the dupe folder and Calibre actually moved the books. Luckily I made 2 backups in separate places. The other copy was copied not exported. I'm at a lost as to how I can get my buttons back. Also, I can't seem to find the original reinstalled library as it appears the empty folder took over as the original library. Any ideas?

@Kapow - Toolbar buttons are maintained via Preferences->Toolbars

There are two versions of the "Main Toolbar", one shows when no device is attached, the other shows when a device is attached.
