The extent of an OTG adapter/wire
I finally got my OTG adapter, and this could mean so many things. The Kindle could be a music player with a USB sound card, a portable battery, etc. With the right drivers, of course…
The Kindle does not seem to provide enough power to an external keyboard(or it has no ability to, without the right drivers), and I am still struggling to see if a USB drive could work… Still, this has a lot of potential… |

Connect your adapter to a powered hub - let the powered hub provide the device power. |

http://www.amazon.com/Micro-Cable-Pl...ywords=otg+hub http://www.amazon.com/Ugreen-Samsung...76353&sr=8-102 These second one is the one I use with a Windows tablet. It accepts power from any appropriate Micro-USB adapters, like the one that came with my tablet. These don't provide power for the tablet itself, just the accessory devices. The Ugreen hub functions as a 2 port hub and can connect to a regular USB host or, via the Micro-USB plug, a host requiring USB/OTG. |

You can supply power to devices from a powered USB hub, which also allows multiple devices. You can get USB that include a rechargeable batter, for portable applications.
More info here: https://wiki.mobileread.com/wiki/Kindle_USB_OTG https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...45#post2246045 But here is the definitive work, with multiple USB devices hosted by a K4, which should be portable to newer kindles (original link dead, here is an archive.org link): https://web.archive.org/web/20120720...off.com/?p=139 But if you plan to try this, read here first: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=193945 Last edited by geekmaster; 05-12-2016 at 02:39 PM. |

Which KUAL extension makes the Kindle usable as a music player(via a USB sound card)?

https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho....php?p=2645841 But unless you install the alsa libraries on your kindle (kindles with built-in sound should already have them), you will need to install them. Twobob would be the expert there, but he has not been around here for quite some time. Though I suspect that kindles that support the new USB sound dongle probably have the alsa libraries built-in. You can check out the amazon source GPL code for your device, or better yet, look for alsa libs on in. It may also be possible to copy the alsa libraries from another kindle that already supports sound (like a K5). Last edited by geekmaster; 05-13-2016 at 02:46 AM. |

Which includes directions on what you need to check for.
Did you follow them? With what result of each? And for the third time: WHAT APPLICATION GIVES YOU THE ERROR MESSAGE? we could give you that question in Klingon if your having trouble with English. |
