HD Whispersync gone nuts on Fire 5.0

Has anyone had a problem with Audibles constantly wanting to sync to a different position. The pop up happens after every time I pause the book. It's super annoying and makes the control on my headphones not work. It's not just one book it's any Audible. Anyway to disable it? It's happened since the 5.0 upgrade all my other Fires do not have this problem.

I think even before the update, one had to be cautious about pausing using headset control without first unlocking the screen and navigating back to the Audible player app. And various issues with sync when switching from text to audiobook. Ironic that things are much better on iOS and Android.
